Ambitions
Animal welfare & education
Monde Sauvage, accredited by EAZA, adheres to strict standards in animal welfare, quality for visitors and employee well-being.
However, the role of a zoological park must go beyond these requirements by raising public awareness of biodiversity issues, the fragility of natural balances and the disastrous impact of human activities on wildlife (poaching, pollution, habitat destruction, illegal animal trade).
The park’s ambition is to evolve by giving greater importance to scientific and cultural aspects.
Its new mission will focus on three main pillars:
- Education
- Species conservation
- Participation in scientific research programs
Commitment to recreating enriched landscapes to promote the animals’ natural instincts :
Big cats
Kingdom of Lions : Staging of the King of the Jungle in direct contact with the Safari.
The Cheetah Valley : Breeding enclosure and elongated enclosure to allow running.
Far North
Canadian Forest : Mixed area for biotope animals (moose, reindeer, etc.)
Forest aviary : For birds of the Far North
Yellowstone Plain : Mixed area housing bison, elk, mouflon, etc.
